Local brewery host fundraiser to help The Brewhouse after fire

Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone is lending a helping hand after its competition temporarily closed because of a fire.

Pete Johnson, owner of The Brewhouse on Montecito Street, told Reporter Tracy Lehr he believes a glue gun that was turned off, but still plugged into the way may have caused the fire last Wednesday morning. Employees used the it to seal large beer containers.

The smoke and fire caused damages to the interior of the business.Turns out, a Brewhouse employee is close friends with the bar manager at Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company so they’ve created a fundraiser which will take place Thursday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. to midnight at Figueroa.

There will be a silent auction featuring 39 different packages from local businesses and vendors. There will also be live music and games. Part of the proceeds from beer sales will go towards helping The Brewhouse and its employees.

Anyone who can attend have the option of visiting a GoFundMe page set up by The Brewhouse.
