Ventura couple arrested as part of drug investigation

A Ventura couple was arrested Wednesday as part of an investigation into the sale of methamphetamine.

Ventura Police Department Street Crimes Unit Detectives served a search warrant at a storage yard on the 1700 block of Arundell Avenue in Ventura.

The suspect, Paul Jenkins, 47, of Ventura, was staying in a makeshift living quarters at the storage yard with his wife, Nicole Jenkins, 46.

Detectives, K-9 and patrol officers gained entrance through a locked gate and then detained Paul and Nicole Jenkins, as well as another unidentified male.

Police searched several large storage containers and the area where the two were living. They located over a quarter pound of methamphetamine, a small amount of cocaine and numerous prescription medications.

Detectives also recovered approximately $4,000 in cash, a loaded “MAC-10” style firearm with an attached 30-round magazine and a shotgun.

Police say other evidence was found indicating that the pair were actively involved in the sales of methamphetamine.

Paul and Nicole Jenkins were btoh arrested and transported to the Ventura County Main Jail. They could face felony possession for sales and conspiracy. Paul Jenkins has a history of narcotic related arrests and could also face a felony charge for being narcotic addict in possession of a firearm.

The third male detained was released from the scene on a misdemeanor citation for possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
