Good Samaritans pull man out of car as it’s engulfed in flames
Some Good Samaritans pulled a man out of a car on fire after he veered off the roadway and crashed into a tree, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fiery crash happened on Highway 150 near Carpinteria Monday afternoon.
The CHP says the driver of the car may have been unconscious at the time of the crash. The Good Samaritans were able to pull out the man before the car became fully engulfed in flames.
The male driver, whose identity was not released, was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for medical treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.
The fire from the car did not extend to the nearby brush. Both directions of Highway 150 were closed for investigators and crews to clear the wreckage.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
