Man accused of killing ex-girlfriend pleads guilty to 2nd-degree murder
Aubrey Dupree Wadford, the man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Angela Laskey, will be spending time in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office says Wadford also admitted to the special allegation that he used a deadly weapon in the murder.
Laskey was stabbed multiple times in her Santa Barbara home on October 29, 2014, in what investigators believe was a domestic dispute. She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Wadford was originally charged with first-degree murder but later pled guilty to second-degree murder. As part of the plea, Wadford will be sentenced to 16 years to life in prison.
The sentencing will take place in Santa Barbara Superior Court on May 26.
