Woman killed in Highway 101 crash in Gaviota area
UPDATE
The California Highway Patrol has released a traffic collision report into the fatal crash on U.S. Highway 101 just north of state Route 1.
The crash victim has been identified as 57-year-old Buellton resident Oudinarath Sang.
The report says Sang was traveling southbound on Highway 101 in a 2008 Honda when she lost control of her car on the wet roadway.
“As a result, the vehicle traveled in a westerly direction across the [southbound] lanes and onto the shoulder where the left side of the vehicle struck a metal guardrail,” says the report.
The No. 2 traffic lane of southbound Highway 101 remained closed until Caltrans repaired the damage to the guardrail.
The CHP report says it does not appear impairment was a factor in the crash.
No further details were immediately available, but CHP continues investigating the cause that led up to the fatal crash.
