Driver’s identity revealed after vehicle crashes into Oxnard apartment building

A pickup truck crashed into a house injuring at least five people in the 1600 block of California Street in the city of Oxnard.

Police say a pick up driven by Sonny Ramos, 36, of Oxnard ran into the side wall of the apartment residence shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Three people suffered critical injuries in the collision, two others suffered minor injuries, according to Ventura County Fire Capt. Mike Lindbery.

A 2-year-old girl and 8-year-old boy inside the apartment, were discovered underneath the pickup truck after the crash. A 16-year-old teenage girl was struck by the pickup, but at this time it’s unclear is she was inside or outside the apartment at the time of the collision.

An Urban Search and Rescue team is currently inspecting the integrity of the building.
