Ventura County Fire crews extinguish brush fire near Ojai

Ventura County Fire crews are mopping up hot spots in Ojai after a fire broke out Sunday afternoon.

The fire sparked on the 500 block of Del Oro Street with winds picking up flames and carrying them into a small canyon.

Helicopters flew overhead and made multiple water drops on the blaze.

The fire burned about half of an acre and then expanded to nearly five acres before firefighters got it under control.

No structures were threatened by the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
