Police investigating late night stabbing in Santa Maria

The Santa Maria Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred Saturday night in Santa Maria.

At around 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of South Blosser Road and Pershing Street for a report of a stabbing.

The officers located a man who had suffered multiple stab wounds. The suspects fled the area before the officers arrived.

The man was treated for his injuries at a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Police say the stabbing appears to be gang related.
