The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has identified 38-year-old Carpinteria resident Marcelino Gorostieta as the man tragically killed in Monday’s tree trimming accident at Hollister Ranch near Gaviota.

A man was killed Monday morning in a tree-trimming accident at Hollister Ranch near Gaviota.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department was dispatched to the ranch at 10 a.m. but medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Capt. Dave Zaniboni.
The victim has not been identified pending next-of-kin notification.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office is investigating the death.
