Santa Maria boxer makes professional debut

Karlos Balderas made his professional debut. Sunday night the Santa Maria Boxer fought in his first professional fight in Downtown Los Angeles at L.A. Live.

Beforehand, the 2016 Olypian arrived with hundreds of supporters from the Central Coast. Family, friends, and fans making the trip to cheer on Balderas in his fight with Thomas Smith.

In a bout that was televised live on Fox Sports, Balderas wasted little time making his presence known. He beat Smith with a first round technical knockout.

Afterwards, Balderas revealed he suffered a hand injury that will be looked at later. He plans to return to the ring sometime over the summer.

Dave Alley will have much more on the pro debut Monday night.
