Heavy rains close down East Camino Cielo in Los Padres National Forest

East Camino Cielo, a road that cuts through the Los Padres National Forest, has been closed to all vehicle traffic after the road sustained damage from this year’s heavy rains.

The United States Forest Service announced the closure on their social media pages Monday afternoon.

The closure begins at San Ysidro Trailhead and closes off the following areas to all motorized vehicles:

Romero Trailhead Divide Peak OHV Route, The Romero Camuesa Road 5N15.1 and the Upper Santa Ynez Recreation Area (Big Caliente Hot Springs, Little Caliente Hot Springs, Lower Caliente Rock Camp, Mid Santa Ynez Campground, P-Bar Campground, and Mono Campground.)

Closures will be in place indefinitely.
