Mike Klan asks UCSB’s Bob Williams about his job status after Gauchos miss Big West Tournament

The Gauchos have already set a school-record for losses in a season with 22 but the hits keep on coming as UCSB found out on Friday that they will not play in next week’s Big West Conference Tournament.

The NCAA Division 1 Committee on Infractions ruled that Hawaii is eligible for postseason play so they will be allowed to go to Anaheim. That ruling bumps UCSB out of the eight-team tournament equation since they are in ninth and last place.

UCSB will now end their season on Saturday night at Cal Poly and the question becomes, will it also be the last game that Bob Williams coaches for the Gauchos?

He is finishing up his 19th year at UCSB and his contract expires on August 31, 2017.

Williams has not had any recent contract talk with UCSB.
