String of tool thefts reported in Ventura

Ventura Police Department has reported a rash of tool thefts in the city of Ventura over the last several weeks.

Police say they’ve responded to over 27 reports of tools being stolen from tool boxes affixed to vehicles or from storage containers of businesses.

The majority of the crimes have been reported in the industrial area south of U.S. 101 between Arundell Avenue and Knoll Drive.

The thefts are reportedly taking place late at night or in the early morning hours.

Suspects have used prying and cutting tools to gain entry into the locations.

The Ventura Police Department has increased patrols in the area and anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact the Ventura Police Department Command Center at (805) 650-8010.
