Driver airlifted after rollover crash near Lompoc

A driver of a vehicle was airlifted to a local hospital after rolling his vehicle on Highway 1 near Lompoc Saturday afternoon.

The crash occurred at around 12:35 p.m. on California State Route 1 in between Constellation Road and Santa Lucia Road.

Santa Barbara County Fire Captain Dave Zaniboni said the vehicle rolled over multiple times and landed off the roadway and up against a tree.

The driver, described as a man in his early 20’s, suffered moderate injuries and was airlifted to Cottage Hospital via CALSTAR helicopter. He was the only occupant in the vehicle.

The road was temporarily closed to oncoming traffic.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
