Three men transported to hospital after crashing into large tree in Buellton

Three men were transported to the hospital after the vehicle they were riding in crashed into a large oak tree in Buellton Saturday evening.

At around 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Jonata Park Road and Camino San Carlos the Toyota Corolla crashed into the tree at high rate of speed.

According to Santa Barbara County Fire Captain Dave Zaniboni, the three occupants in the car all appeared to be in their late teens or early twenties.

The vehicle was stuck in the tree required “heavy extrication” to reach the men.

The driver of the vehicle suffered major injuries and the two passengers complained of moderate injuries. All three were transported to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara via AMR.

California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
