SLO police investigating assault near Cal Poly campus

The San Luis Obispo Police Department is investigating an assault on a woman walking on the Cal Poly campus near the Health Center that occurred on Thursday at about 9:15 p.m.

Police say that as the woman, who was not identified, approached the stairs leading from the coffee shop and the 1400 block of Foothill Road onto the campus, she felt someone grab her buttocks.

The suspect ran away after the woman turned around. Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male adult, about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a heavy jacket, pants and a tan colored beanie.

Officers were not able to locate the suspect. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department at 805-781-7312.

This is the third assault in the same general area in the past two months according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
