Last second win by UCSB gives Bob Williams his 500th coaching victory

Alex Hart’s tip-in with 2.5 seconds left allowed UCSB to avoid some dubious school history and at the same time give coach Bob Williams a milestone victory.

Tied at 54 with Hawaii and time winding down, Clifton Powell Jr. missed a jumper but Hart’s putback snapped an 8-game losing streak for UCSB. The Gauchos are now 4-20 on the year. No UCSB team has ever lost 21 times in a single season.

Hart finished with 16 points.

For Williams, it was career coaching win number 500.

The Gauchos host Long Beach State on Saturday at 4.
