Arroyo Grande school put on lockdown after irate parent threatens staff

An Arroyo Grande school was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after the father of a student threatened to shoot school staff members.

Deputies from the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office were called to Lopez High School after a school secretary said she was threatened by the man, 38-year-old Ryan David Leslie of Arroyo Grande.

Leslie had originally called about his son’s recent suspension.

The father allegedly told the secretary, “I’m just going to come shoot the school staff.”

Officers arrested Leslie at his home later that night.

Leslie was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail for making criminal threats with the intent to terrorize and committing a felony while released on bail.
