Elderly missing woman found safe


The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says 89-year-old Evelyn Hines is found.

Hines returned back to Palm Springs where she originally is from. The elderly woman recently relocated to Solvang from the area.

Over the weekend, she was visiting her daughter in Lompoc, when she went to run some errands and never returned back

Sheriffs say Hines was not injured at the time she was found.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is asking for public assistance in locating a senior citizen missing out of Lompoc.

89-year-old Evelyn Hines was reported missing Sunday evening at around 6:40 p.m.

Hines’s daughter reported her missing when she never returned from runnning errands.

Hines was last seen at around 3:00 p.m. after leaving her daughter’s home on T Street in the City of Lompoc. Hines was driving a white 2006 Toyota Highlander with the following license plate number: 5PRX901.

Hines had just moved to Solvang Sunday from the Palm Springs area and was staying at a hotel in Solvang while in the process of purchasing a home. Hines has no connection to Lompoc, other than her daughter.

Hines’s family is especially concerned because she is unfamiliar with the area and does not have a cell phone.

Hines was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a blue/gray sweater and beige loafer-type shoes. Hines is approximately 5-foot 8-inches, and between 140 and 150 pounds. She has gray hair and blue eyes.
