Parts of Refugio Road closed due to flooding on roadway
Areas of Refugio Road have been closed to through traffic as crews deal with flooding from the latest rain storms that hit the neighboring counties.
Refugio Road near Circle Bar B Guest Ranch Stables had rushing water on the roadway, with drivers having to cross flooded terrain.
The swelling creek pushed boulders and debris throughout the area.
Circle Bar B is located in the same hills that washed away and flooded the El Capitan Canyon Friday afternoon.
Flooded roadways are not uncommon with the latest bout of storms and many more could be affected as another storm cell moves its way to the coast. That storm is expected to make landfall Sunday morning.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has asked travelers to stay off the roadway unless absolutely necessary. The county has set up a number of sandbag filling stations in the county. That complete list can be found here.
