Suspects sought in Los Osos residential robbery
The San Luis Obispo County’s Sheriff’s Department is looking for more suspects in a daring, morning strong arm robbery in Los Osos.
Two Atascadero men have been charged in the case that took place at about 8:00 am Thursday morning at a home along the 1500 block of Fourth Street in the Baywood Park area of Los Osos.
The Sheriff’s Department says several people wearing ski masks forced their way into a man’s room at the home and stole several items.
No weapons were used in the strong arm robbery and the victim was not injured.
The brazen early morning crime shook the quiet and peaceful Fourth Street neighborhood.
“This kind of thing is not expected especially a kind of forced-entry”, says neighbor Hilary Young, “it kind of destroys the fabric of what you consider your neighborhood to be which is safe.”
The Sheriff’s Department says a multi-agency law enforcement response on the ground and in the air located two suspects in nearby Morro Bay.
Taken into custody on robbery and burglary charges were 34 year old Joshua Weber and 28 year old Bryce Mueller both of Atascadero.
The Sheriff’s Department says its looking for at least two more suspects in the case.
No word on a possible motive for the robbery and a description of the items stolen from the home was not disclosed.
“They knew where to go, they knew who they were going to talk to so it shouldn’t be a big mystery I wouldn’t think”, says neighbor Ted Gray, “sounds like personal problems.”
“It does make you think about the aspect of checking twice before you open the door, making sure that you know who you are opening the door to”, Hilary Young says, “there’s a certain level of sometimes I think complacency because you rarely have an incident like this in fact we’ve never had an incident like this.”
Anyone with information about this case should call detectives at the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department at (805) 781-4500.
