FLASH FLOOD WARNING in Santa Barbara County

UPDATE: Mud, dirt and rocks are blocking the roadway at S-R 192 and Duncan Road. Caltrans is en-route.

Refugio State Beach is closed.

Black Road between Main Street and Stowell Roads was closed today at approximately 9:30 a.m. due to flooding in Santa Barbara.

The National Weather Service is reporting as of 8:47 very heavy rain with rainfall rates in excess of one inch per hour across Southern Santa Barbara County.

Some locations that could experience flooding include: Sherpa and Rey Burn ares, Santa Barbara, Gaviota, Refugio State Beach, El Capitan State Beach, Goleta and Highway 154 over San Marcos Pass.

A flash flood warning does mean that is imminent or occurring. You are warned to move to higher ground if you are listed in above listed areas.
