New interactive experience encourages adventurers to explore Santa Barbara coast

A new interactive map can now help you enjoy the Santa Barbara Coastal Trail.

The newly published ‘Explore Your Coast’ map guides people who wish to walk from the Douglas Family Preserve to the Andree Clark Bird Refuge.

The City of Santa Barbara and the California Coastal Conservancy developed a website to go along with the map which includes podcasts and videos about the historic trails.

“In every one of these stops you can actually go online and listen to a podcast and learn about the history of the area or ecology of the area, cultural issues,” Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Director Jill Zachary said. “Each one of them has something to learn about.”

You can pick up the free ‘Explore Your Coast’ maps at the Parks and Recreation office or at City Hall.
