Carpinteria man invited to inauguration
The day after Donald Trump was elected longtime GOP volunteer Gregory Gandrud inquired about going to the inauguration.
A few days ago, his tickets to the swearing-in ceremony, the inaugural ball, concerts, a parade and more arrived by Fed-Ex.
“I was like wow, this is my first inauguration, this is huge,” said Gandrud.
The Carpinteria accountant is flying out alone but will be attending with a close friend and Trump donor.
Gandrud comes from a family of politicians and served on the Carpinteria City Council years ago.
He was also an altertnate delegate at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland last year.
He went door to door and worked phone banks in California and Nevada, two states Trump lost.
But that never stopped him from supporting what he calls a movement to get people working again.
Gandrud said he is a member of the Log Cabin Republicans and doesn’t think government should be involved in social issues.
He thinks the President-Elect shows in his businesses that he accepts the LGBTQ community.
Gandrud believes Trump will win critics over when he gets things done.
