Weather-related road repairs begin in Carpinteria
A portion of U.S. Highway 101 in Carpinteria will be closed Friday morning for emergency repairs.
Caltrans crews will repair areas of the northbound slow lane between Carpinteria Creek and Linden Avenue between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. In order to repave and repair the surface, the northbound Highway 101 on-ramp at Linden Avenue will also be closed. The recent rainstorms have helped many parts of California out of the drought. In Santa Barbara County, it has degraded the pavement and requires immediate attention.
“I definitely think it’s needed overall. I see the congestion when I’m commuting to work, but this closing down for awhile, I can just get on another way so it shouldn’t be an issue,” said Sarah Spendlove, a Carpinteria resident.
Other projects in the area like the Linden and Casistas Pass Project will continue.
