Former Lompoc police volunteer pleads guilty to child molestation charges

Anthony Michael Durham, 67, a former Lompoc police volunteer, pled guilty to 17 counts of child molestation.

The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office made the announcement on Thursday.

Durham pled guilty to 14 counts of Substantial Sexual Contact with a child 10 years old or younger, and three counts of Lewd or Lascivious Act with a child under 14 years old.

He was arrested back in September 2016 after Lompoc police officers were made aware of a crime against children. After a preliminary investigation, officers determined there was probably cause to arrest Durham.

Durham will be sentenced to 45 years to life on Feb. 23, 2017.
