Police investigating homicide in Oxnard

Detectives with the Oxnard Police Department are investigating a shooting that left one man dead just before 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim was identified as 30-year-old Christopher Barajas. The shooting occurred in the 6000 block of Perkins Road.

Police officers searched the area and found evidence of a shooting. A short time later, they located Barajas suffering from gunshot wounds, but was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
