Oxnard police searching for kidnapping, domestic violence suspect

The Oxnard Police Department is searching for a man who reportedly attacked his girlfriend and forced her out of a residence at weapon-point early Monday morning.

Officers received a 911 call at around 4:45 a.m. from a female stating that her 29-year-old daughter had just been forced out of an Oxnard home on the 200 block of Riverpark Boulevard by her boyfriend Jamell Taylor.

Taylor broke into the residence through a window and used a screw driver as a weapon to take the victim.

Officers searched the area and located the victim near Ventura Road and Forest Park Boulevard, two hours after the initial call.

The victim was treated for a minor injury she sustained from Taylor.

Officers received word that Taylor may have been seen near the 500 block of Danvers River Street.

A perimeter was set up and officers searched for Taylor with the assistance of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Air and K9 units.

Officers were not able to locate Taylor and the contained area search was called off shortly after 8 a.m..

Authorities are still searching for Taylor in relation to the incident; Taylor also has an active warrant for a parole violation.

Taylor is described as a black male, 31 years old, 5-foot 3-inches and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve gray shirt and black sweat pants.
