Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Mounted Unit prepare for Rose Parade

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Enforcement Unit is getting ready to saddle up for their first appearance in the 128th annual Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena on Monday.

13 deputies, including Sheriff Bill Brown, and its team of horses will be making the 5.5 mile journey down Colorado Boulevard.

The unit is one of only three law enforcement equestrian entries that was selected this year.

The 27-year-old unit is used for crowd control, search and rescue and rural law enforcement.

The nationally televised Rose Parade can be seen on News Channel 3, starting at 8:00 a.m. Monday morning
