SLO police searching for package thief

San Luis Obispo Police Department is searching for a suspect who stole a package from the front porch of a home Thursday afternoon.

According to a press release, SLO police officers responded to a reported theft at a home on the 900 block of Tarragon Lane that occurred earlier that day.

The victim provided surveillance video that showed a man taking a UPS package from the front porch of the residence.

San Luis Obispo Police Department has asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

Anyone with information about the theft is encouraged to call the San Luis Obispo Police Department at (805) 781-7312 or Crime Stoppers at (805) 549-STOP.

SLO police said the city has seen an increase in mail and package thefts during the holiday season. The police department encourages residents to have items delivered to locations where they can be retrieved as soon as possible.
