Palmdale man arrested in Ventura homicide case
Palmdale resident Matthew Paoli, 33, is facing murder charges after investigators with the Ventura Police Department identified him as a prime suspect in a homicide investigation.
The crime occurred on Dec. 4 in the area of Main Street and Ash Street in the city of Ventura. Investigators say a Gold Coast Transit bus driver called police at 7:29 a.m. to report a “non-responsive subject at a bus stop.”
Officers found a 51-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Tuesday, the Ventura Police Department announced the arrest of 33-year-old Paoli saying he was taken into custody after being spotted in the area of Santa Clara Street and Laurel Street in Ventura.
Paoli was booked into Ventura County Jail. The police department did not provide additional information in the investigation.
