Eyeglass Factory in Santa Barbara held annual ‘Kids Day’

The Eyeglass Factory in Santa Barbara held their annual “Kids Day” on Sunday.

For the last 22 years the business has provided free eye exams and glasses to kids in need. This is a year round event.

“Everyone should understand this program goes on year round.” said Rick Fieldman, Owner of the Eyeglass Factor. “If kids can’t read the board or the computers then they can’t achieve their full potential.”

This year, The Eyeglass Factory partnered with the Santa Barbara Unified School District Food Department to provide their “Mobile Cafe” to provide snacks throughout the day.

In addition to eye exams, the staff from the William Sansum Diabetes Center provided diabetes screenings and nutritional guidance to kids and parents.

The Clinic on Wheels also provided an array of services, including flu shots.

The Santa Barbara Eyeglass Factory is located at 1 S Milpas in Santa Barbara.
