Santa Barbara jail inmates repair bicycles to donate for Christmas

Dozens of adults and kids will get bikes for Christmas thanks to Santa Barbara County Jail inmates.

Every year the sheriff’s office collects bikes that are recovered as evidence, unclaimed stolen property or donated.

Inmates in the “Recycle a Bike” program repair those bikes to make them safe to ride again.

This year, inmates refurbished more than 25 bikes which were donated to local charities.
