Public’s help needed to find Santa Barbara assault suspect

Santa Barbara police need the public’s help to locate an assault suspect stemming from an incident on Nov. 29 at 3:20 p.m.

Investigators released a surveillance photo of the suspect on a skateboard wearing white pants, sunglasses and a black backpack. The man is accused of assaulting another person on the sidewalk in the 1000 block of Chapala Street, near the MTD Transit Center.

No further details were immediately available, but police are asking anyone who recognizes the man in the picture to contact SBPD Detective Douglas Klug at 805-897-2346, or email dklug@sbpd.com. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may call 805-897-2386.
