Water is trucked to Gibraltar Dam for city worker on duty
Water is being trucked to the now dry Gibraltar Dam where an employee is living and needs a supply.
The city of Santa Barbara says the worker is there to maintain the facility, and had been using water from the reservoir. Now that it is empty, a new plan had to be worked out
Gibraltar is one of the main sources of water for the city of Santa Barbara and when it is operational, the water arrives through the Mission Tunnel.
The dam is on the Santa Ynez River and feeds Cachuma Lake which is 93 percent empty from where it was at its capacity in 2011.
