Thousands take in Orcutt Christmas Parade

Thousands took to the streets of downtown Orcutt to take in the 55th annual Old Town Orcutt Christmas Parade.

85 entries, ranging from classic cars to marching bands to animal shelters, all made their mark along Clark Avenue this year.

“It’s just a whole lot of fun,” says Catherine Scott, a member of the Orcutt Community Foundation, one of the event sponsors. “Everyone brings their dogs, their kids, its always fun.”

Parade participants threw candy from their floats for kids along the street. Local food banks received donations from parade watchers.

Even organizers say they begin planning the parade every year in August.
