Mountain biker suffers serious injuries from crash on Snyder Trail in Santa Barbara

A man was flown to Cottage Hospital after crashing on his mountain bike on Snyder Trail near Paradise Road Saturday afternoon.

Santa Barbara County Fire Captain Dave Zaniboni said the call came in at around 12:06 p.m.

Two Santa Barbara County Fire engines, U.S. Forest Service and Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue crews responded to the area.

Zaniboni said the mountain biker was making his descent down Snyder Trail when he crashed and flipped over the handlebars of his bike just a mile away from the trailhead.

Fire crews located the man and carried him down the mountain via stretcher and into an awaiting helicopter.

The man was then flown to Cottage Hospital with major injuries.

Zaniboni said the man was approximately in his mid-thirties.
