Public asked to help find wanted felon
A Santa Maria man is wanted by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities are asking for help finding 50-year-old Samuel Sedillo. He is a felon who may be in possesion of firearms. A warrant has been issued for Sedillo’s arrest.
A probation check was conducted at a residence in the 1000 block of Hacienda Way in the City of Santa Maria. During the initial sweep of the residence on December 7, 2016, an unsecured firearm was observed inside the residence.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the entire residence. During the execution of the search warrant, a total of five firearms, nine ounces of methamphetamine, ammunition and an inert fragmentation grenade were located inside one room in the residence.
Through the course of the investigation, deputies determined the contraband belongs to Sedillo who is one of the residents at the home. Sedillo is a felon and is prohibited from possessing or owning firearms or ammunition. The evidence obtained also indicates Sedillo may be in possession or have access to additional firearms.
Sheriff’s detectives have not been able to locate Sedillo and are requesting anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 805-681-4150 or to leave an anonymous tip call 805-681-4171. If you see Sedillo, do not approach him but call 911 and alert local enforcement.
