Oxnard High School senior wins full ride scholarship to Princeton
A studious Oxnard High School senior with a 4.67 GPA just won one of the most prestigious scholarships around.
Hector Betanzos won a full ride to Princeton University thanks to a Questbridge College Match Scholarship.
Questbridge’s website said it connects the brightest students from low income backgrounds with higher education.
Betanzos is the son of immigrants and a valedictorian candidate.
His counselor Scott McNutt called him a deserving young man.
“The scholarship provides for tuition, fees, room and board, and supplies and all travel expenses for four years and Hector, he will be getting that at Princeton University where he will start in Fall. We are all very proud of him,” said McNutt.
Betanzos,17, hopes to become a Supreme Court Justice.
He thanked Questbride for making his dream a reality and said he would not let Princeton University down.
