Authorities arrest five in search warrant, compliance check
Five people were arrested Wednesday as part of a community compliance check and search warrant execution at a home in Santa Maria.
The Compliance Response Team requested the assistance from the Sheriff’s Special Investigations Bureau and Santa Maria Police Department to conduct a search warrant service, in conjunction with a Community Supervision compliance check at a residence in the 1800 block of Kent Court.
Authorities were searching for 37-year-old Jaime Coria who was wanted for violation of his terms of community supervision. Investigators found he was associating with people involved in criminal activity which led to the search warrant and community supervision compliance check.
During a search of the residence, a loaded .380 caliber handgun was located stored under a baby’s crib and approximately 3.4 grams of methamphetamine was found concealed in baby clothes. Loose ammunition and firearm parts were also discovered.
Child Welfare Services social workers responded and assisted deputies with a medical evaluation of a one-year-old child who was later released to a family member.
