Local stores gear up for Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday is a shopping holiday that emphasizes community and encourages shoppers to shop locally.
If you’re done with Black Friday Shopping and can’t wait for Cyber Monday, there’s Small Business Saturday.
There are many small businesses selling local and handmade items in Santa Barbara in the Downtown area and in the Funk Zone.
The Blue Door, a modern and vintage home decor store, is one of the businesses hoping to get support from the community on Saturday.
“I think it goes beyond helping the businesses here. A lot of them carry locally handmade stuff from local artisans so it goes beyond the store. With weather like this in Santa Barbara, there’s no reason to be on your computer shopping online when you can be outside,” said Sarah Whitmore, a manager at The Blue Door.
Businesses part of the Downtown Santa Barbara Association will hand out free items to customers who support them on Saturday. Click here for a link to stores participating in Small Business Saturday in the Downtown area.
