Aera Energy donates Thanksgiving feast boxes to families at Casa Pacifica

Families in need during the holiday season will be able to enjoy an entire Thanksgiving feast thanks to a special donation.

Aera Energy, Ventura County’s largest onshore oil producer donated 31 thanksgiving boxes to Casa Pacifica on Monday.

Each box includes everything you need to feed a family of six on Thanksgiving, from the turkey to the stuffing and cranberry sauce.

The boxes will be handed out by Casa Pacifica to families and young adults who receive services from the crisis care and residential treatment facility.

“Food insecurity is a major problem in our community. So our employees and the company got together and basically we have a complete meal for 31 families here at Casa, which is a great organization and we love supporting the work that they do,” said Michele Newell of Aera Energy.

“We come from families that aren’t really put together, so to have people go out of their way and do this for us, It is really great, and we are really thankful,” said Brandy Olalia, a young woman, who will be enjoying one of the boxes.

This is the first year the Aera Energy office in Ventura is getting involved in the turkey food box drive but it’s a tradition that has been going on in Aera’s main office for 13 years.
