Ventura man arrested after stealing neighbor’s medical marijuana

Ventura Police Department arrested a man Friday after home surveillance video showed him breaking into a neighbor’s home and stealing the homeowner’s medical marijuana.

At around 11:30 a.m., a homeowner contacted VPD about a burglary at his home.

The victim gave officers home surveillance footage that showed a suspect jumping the victim’s fence and entering his garage on two separate occasions.

The victim identified the suspect as a neighbor.

Officers contacted the neighbor and he admitted to taking five grams of marijuana during the burglaries.

The suspect was identified as Jonathan Ward, 25, of Ventura. Ward was arrested and booked into Ventura County Jail.

Ward could face possible charges for burglary.
