Firefighters knock out small shed fire in Ventura

The Ventura City Fire Department extinguished a small shed fire early Friday morning in Ventura.

At around 2:35 a.m., firefighters responded to the call at a detached shed near a home at the intersection of El Dorado Street and San Diego Avenue.

The first arriving fire crew reported smoke and flames spreading toward the garage of the adjacent home.

Firefighters knocked down the main body of the fire and prevented major damage to the home, although there was moderate damage to the eaves of the house.

18 personnel from Ventura City Fire Department, Santa Paula Fire Department and Ventura Police Department responded to the call.

The fire was fully extinguished 16 minutes after firefighters arrived on scene.

No injuries were reported, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
