Jenelle Osborne elected to Lompoc City Council
There is a new City Councilwoman in Lompoc. This is the first time Jenelle Osborne has been elected into city office.
“I look forward to serving the community,” she says,.
For four years she served on the city’s Economic Development Committee and says its something that has helped prepare her for her new role.
“That has really been a great way to understand our local economy, the businesses involved, and what they are going through,” says Osborne.
She says one of the first things on her agenda is to expand Lompoc’s economy. She plans to work with businesses to make sure they stay here and help attract new ones to the city.
“Lompoc is a great small town and it’s well connected, we just need to do a better job at supporting those who want to work in town not just live in town,” she says.
Also on her agenda, “we have infrastructure issues to deal with, a budget to address.”
Osborne says getting elected into office is not only about improving the city, but, also connecting with the people of Lompoc.
“This was a big election both nationally and locally and encouraging people to have a voice and this is the place to come your local city,” she says.
Once she is sworn into office, she will be the only woman on the city’s council.
“I am the voice of the whole community and that I am there for everyone. So, not just being a woman but having a different voice and perspective and having that on council it’s nice to bring that back,” she says.
