Two suspicious fires reported on State Street in Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara City Fire Department and the Santa Barbara Police Department responded to two separate fires on the 1200 block of State Street.

Both fires were outside and occurred within close proximity of each other. This first fire was reported at 5:45 a.m. Friday outside of Scarlet Begonia restaurant inside Victoria Court.

The second fire happened at 9:15 a.m. in front of 1219 State Street. No injuries were reported and minimal property damage occurred at both locations.

Investigators said these two fires are suspicious.

Both cases are under investigation by the Santa Barbara City Fire Department and Santa Barbara Police Department.
