Nicolson & Elbert honored by Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table

Maddy Nicolson and Michael Elbert claimed Athlete of the Week awards at the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table.

Nicolson had 32 total kills in two playoff wins for Laguna Blanca as the Owls advanced to the CIF Division 6 semifinals in girls high school volleyball. The Owls will host Woodcrest Christian on Tuesday at 6pm.

Michael Elbert was the Male Athlete of the Week after he had two interceptions and one touchdown catch as Dos Pueblos beat Ventura 28-21 to make the CIF Division 10 playoffs. The Chargers were co-league champions with Ventura and Santa Barbara in the Channel League.

DP hosts Mission Prep on Friday night.
