Camarillo couple arrested for human trafficking

A couple is behind bars for allegedly prostituting a 15-year-old teenage girl. It’s unclear if the girl is related to the couple.

Jessica Lynn Stanley, 26, of Simi Valley and Robert Ryan McGraa, 35, or Thousand Oaks, had been staying at a Camarillo motel in the 1600 block of E. Daily Drive when the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office received a tip of the alleged human trafficking.

Investigators say Stanley had posted several escort advertisements under an alias on various websites, such as During an undercover operation, Stanley allegedly arranged a meeting between the undercover detective and the 15-year-old teen for sex.

The meeting was to take place at the motel after the teen finished her day at school. Authorities say McGraa, a registered sex offender, took the teen to the motel room just before the undercover detective arrived. The teenage girl was found on the bed unharmed and escorted out of the motel by Sheriff’s deputies.

Law enforcement served search warrants at three other locations in Ventura County and say they discovered substantial evidence pointing to Stanley and McGraa having engaged in this type of activity on several occasions involving the same 15-year-old.

The teenage victim received help from the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office’s Victim Advocacy program and Child Protective Services.

Stanley and McGraa were booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility. Stanley was booked on charges of causing a minor to engage in commercial sex acts, pimping of a minor, and possession or control of child pornography.

McGraa was booked on charges of human trafficking of a minor, pimping and pandering of a minor, and transportation of a minor under 16 years old for prostitution.

Both suspects were charged with human trafficking by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. Both remain in custody.
