Metal pins discovered inside Halloween candy

Two families are living a parent’s worst nightmare after finding a metal pin inside their children’s Halloween candy.

Lompoc police have launched an investigation into the two cases. They say neither child was hurt.

Lompoc Valley Medical Center is working with Lompoc police to X-Ray any candy families may still have. Any family concerned about candy they collected while trick-or-treating, are encouraged to call the Lompoc Valley Medical Center at 805-737-3375.

The hospital’s equipment will show metal objects like the pins found in the Kit-Kat candy bars.

Anyone with any information regarding this case should contact the Lompoc Police Department.
