Easy Lift offers free rides to the polls on Tuesday

The Easy Lift transportation company is ready to take anyone who is “transit needy” to their polling place Tuesday.

The company says it has a fleet of vans ready.

Those who call for a ride do not need to be existing customers.

Easy Lift has been offering the service for years on the South Coast for those who have mobility concerns when it comes to their effort to get to the polls.

General Manager Ernesto Paredes says, for the riders, “they get to go with the rest of the community and really bond. It is an excitement. Whatever side you are voting for, there is something that brings us together and that’s the democratic process.”

He expects to have many calls. “We anticipate, as Santa Barbara usually does, (people will) wait until the last minute. We’ll be ready for them!”
